A fascinating photo album compiled by a British naval officer on tour in the Far East at the turn of the 20th century has come to light.

Taprell Dorling served on the HMS Terrible in 1900 at the start of an over 30 year career at sea.

The album, containing 74 photos, has emerged for sale with auctioneers Charles Miller, of London, with an estimate of £3,000.
