Pictured: Medals & Coins and Arms & Armour Specialist, Ned Cowell with the Henry VIII shield
An incredibly rare Tudor shield that has direct links to King Henry VIII and his men has emerged for sale for £20,000.
The remarkable 'gun shield' dates back to the 16th century and is identical to the defences known to be used by Henry's bodyguards.
The metal armour, that is about the size of a dustbin lid, has a specially designed hole in the centre that would have been used to poke a matchlock pistol through.
