A lock of Napoleon's hair stored in a gold locket has emerged for sale for £3,000.
It was cut from the pint-sized leaders head by Colonel Daniel Dodgin after the legendary Frenchman died on the British held island of Saint Helena.
The colonel was one of many guards who were charged with stopping Napoleon from escaping.
He was imprisoned on the remote South Atlantic island after his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
When the infamous emperor died on May 5, 1821, this lock was taken during the autopsy.
