The memorial plaque of tragic war poet Rupert Brooke has sold for a world record £26,000 after it was found in an antique shop.
The dashing Bloomsbury Group wordsmith touched the nation with his patriotic sonnets in the First World War.
His most celebrated poem, 'The Soldier', moved a Field Marshal to tears when it was read aloud at St Paul's Cathedral.
