Downfall - The car that led to the chairman of Daimler's dramatic fall after the extravagent behaviour of his notorious socialite wife.

This luxurious limousine designed by legendary aristocrat Lady Docker as a vanity project, and which eventually cost her and her husband their jobs, is tipped to sell for £160,000 at Bonhams.

The unique 'Stardust' Daimler was one of five show cars styled by exuberant socialite Lady Docker and cost so much they almost bankrupt the company behind them.

The 1954 dark blue Daimler was so lavish it has 5,000 hand painted silver stars on the exterior, an interior full of crocodile skin and hand woven silk, and even a dancer mascot on the bonnet modelled on ex-showgirl Norah Docker herself.

The flamboyant vehicle is even being sold with an invitation to Princess Grace's Monaco wedding in 1956, to which the Dockers shipped two of the luxury cars for their own personal use, and was the final straw for frustrated Daimler board members back home in austerity hit Britain.
