A historic manor visited by Queen Elizabeth I 448 years ago is on the market for £8.5m.
Grade I Listed Hazelbury Manor dates back to the 14th century and has been owned by several wealthy families in its history.
The Bonham family owned the grand home in 1575 when the Queen visited and four Somerset gentlemen were knighted there.
It has changed hands many times since and even been a school before it was returned to its former glory as a private home by eccentric architect and 'naked gardener' Ian Pollard in the 1970s.
