Pictured: The album documents the aftermath of a tornado which struck Malta on 24th of November 1936. The winds demolished three hangars at Hal Far damaging all the aircraft of 802 Sq and 812 Sq.
Dramatic previously unseen photos of the British aircraft carrier HMS Glorious including numerous crashes have come to light 86 years on.
Biplanes can be seen plummeting into the sea and others upturned as the pilots missed their small landing target.
The images were taken in 1935 and 1936 as Glorious roamed the Mediterranean Sea in the years preceding World War Two.
Other photos show her coming to the aid of an Italian passenger liner ablaze, and a tornado ripping through a Maltese airbase.
The pair of photo albums, which were collated by an unknown British seaman, are being sold with auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son, of Devizes, Wilts.
