An historic Jaguar car driven by a host of motorsport legends, including Sir Sterling Moss, has emerged for sale for a whopping £11m.

The D-Type Jag was the lead car of the Jaguar Works team during the 1954 Le Mans 24-hour race and was driven by Moss and Peter Walker, who had finished second in the previous year.

Going into the race Moss and Walker were hot favourites for the title and they led the race until midnight, even setting a then record speed of 172.97mph on the Mulsanne straight.
However, 12 hours into the event, just after midnight, the Jag's breaks gave up - costing them their shot at glory, with Ferrari taking top spot.
