It may have lost its title as the most expensive place to buy property by the sea, but Sandbanks has hit back in some style.

More than £60m worth of property on the exclusive peninsula in Poole Harbour, Dorset, has recently been listed for sale.

The pricey portfolio includes super-luxurious waterside mansions worth between £10m to £15m each.

There are also slightly smaller harbourfront homes up for £5m a pop.

The prices easily dwarf the value of the most expensive properties currently listed for sale in the rival resort of Salcombe.

The up market Devon town has overtaken Sandbanks as the most expensive seaside town in Britain for property, where a home costs an average of £1.2m.
