Open Air Dairy is the only large scale dairy farm in Europe using the unusual method, which goes entirely against modern farming wisdom where many herds are kept in year round.
The bold moo-ve is reaping rewards for the family run business that doesn’t need to spend a fortune on expensive farm building’s and a fixed milking parlour.
Farmers as far afield as Germany and Zimbabwe have now got in touch to ask Tom to manufacture moo-vable milk parlours for them.
Tom's wife Kelly now helps out with their own brand of 'Open Air’ cheddar, made 100 per cent from the milk of their al fresco cows.
