When it comes to a Christmas tree prudent Derek Parker is the ultimate scrooge - as he's had the same one for 80 years.

Derek, 80, can't remember a time before the 3ft fragile tree and he's never known Christmas without it.

His mother Lilly bought it in 1937 when he was three-months-old and after he married wife Sybil 60-years-ago he took it with him.

The couple, from Crewkerne, bring it out every Christmas for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to enjoy.
