An 81-year-old man believed to be 'Britain's oldest footballer' has today made an appeal for a club to sign him after failing to find a team to play for.
Sprightly Dickie Borthwick had played every season since the 1940s but has now been sidelined due to a worrying lack of interest in veteran football.
The left midfielder says despite dwindling opportunities for older players he isn't hanging up his boots just yet.
Dickie, who thinks he has scored aout 400 goals and has never been booked in a 1,600 match career, would like to play once every two weeks.
