Fascinating previously unseen World War One photos showing the conflict from the German perspective have come to light 103 years on.
Major Hans Rudloff, a distinguished artillery officer, took hundreds of images of some of the major Western Front battles.
There are scenes of destruction on the Verdun and at Cambrai, as well as snapshots of captured British soldiers on the Somme in the early days of the German Spring Offensive in March 1918.
