Britain’s first motorhome revealed - As eccentric British pioneers 80 year old home on wheels trundles up for auction.

The pre-war creation of Capt Dunn, an aristocrat from Bexhill-on-Sea, is believed to be the earliest motorhome in the UK.

Enterprising Dunn shipped a Pontiac Six chassis over from America in 1935, engaged local coach builders to craft a bespoke

home from home on to the back, and then set off into the British countryside in his new creation.

The unique vehicle has been untouched since Dunn died in the 1940’s and auctioneers Bonhams are now selling the time capsule

camper at the Goodwood Revival on 10th September with a £40,000 estimate.
