Escape to this chateau...
A turreted French chateau which was a favoured stopping-off point for a number of French monarchs has gone on sale for £2.28m.
The historic home was visited by three French kings, including Francois I in 1515, who was a great rival of Henry VIII of England.
The nine-bedroomed property in Champeaux, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, in France’s north west corner, has its own lake and a heritage dovecote.
It also hosted French kings Charles IX and Henry IV.
