A souped-up sports version of the humble Renault Clio has emerged for sale at auction for what would be a world-record price of £55,000.

The 2005 V6 Phase Two Signature was the fastest hatchback in the world when it was first released.

Despite looking like a standard family motor, the hot-hatch has a top speed of 150mph and produces an incredible 230bhp.
