A knife maniac who nearly killed an innocent bystander he mistook for someone he had a row with because both men had ginger hair was today jailed for 21 years.

Kevin Boyle waited outside a Bournemouth nightclub for the red-headed reveller who had shoved him two hours earlier to appear.

When clubber Glen Morrant walked out Boyle began to follow him by mistake because he was wearing similar clothes to the first man and also had ginger hair.

Boyle slashed the 19-year-old by the throat. He was sentenced today at Winchester Crown Court.
