Two rare London Underground signs for a branch of the Northern Line that was never built have emerged for sale more than 80 years later.
Work had started on the Bushey Heath extension in 1939 but was suspended due to the outbreak of the Second World War and the land was used for farming vegetables instead,
Despite the fact it never got beyond groundworks and tunnelling, signs were made detailing the new extension stations.
Two signs which list the three stations planned for the extension - Brockley Hill, Elstree South and Bushey Heath - have now emerged for sale from a large single owner railway collection and are expected to fetch £2,100.
