That's got to hurt!!

Ronaldo the wonder horse has astounded vets with a miraculous recovery after piercing itself with a 6 ft wooden stake whilst horsing around in its field near Stoke in Staffordshire.

Despite the wooden stake going in nearly 3 ft it somehow managed to miss all Ronaldo's vital organs, and after a delicate operation to remove it the extremely fortunate nag is well on the way to a full recovery.

Relieved owner Debbie McCloughlin said 'I cant believe he's still with us, when I first spotted him I was sure he was a goner, but the vets were magnificent and he's a very lucky horse'
