A seafood restaurant has been forced to scrap its pensioners' special deal due to the amount of abuse staff received from impatient elderly diners.

The 'Silver Surfers' promotion at the Hive Beach Cafe in Dorset entitled anyone aged 55 and over to a three course meal for just £15 a head.

But the fish and chips deal on offer every Tuesday and Thursday in October proved so popular it often led to people queuing out of the door.
The length of time seasoned diners were being made to wait for a table brought out the worst in some 'nasty and rude' pensioners.
