BNPS.co.uk (01202 558833).Pic: JamesWright/Bonhams/BNPS..***Please Use Full Byline***..An historic bike from a bygone age when Britain ruled the motorcycle world has sold for an astonishing £113,500...The beautiful and unique Vincent Black Shadow motorbike was used in world record speed trials in the 1950's at which world records were set by the tiny British company...The trials in Montlhery, France, in 1952 set a 6 hour speed record  at over 100 mph - an astonishing achievement for the time...The tiny British company was so far ahead of its time that in wasn't until the 1970's that Japanese manufacturers came along with faster production machines...The beautifully restored bike was sold by George Petch from Grimsby who had owned the historic bike for over 40 years...Bonhams sold the bike at their West Stafford sale....
