Sold for £25,000 - An extraordinary wartime archive that lift's the veil on the earliest days of the SAS during WW2.
The late Fred Casey was among the original dozen members of the 1st Special Air Service that was formed in North Africa to wreak havoc behind enemy lines.
The commando's military possessions included a remarkable album containing previously unseen images of the founding members of the elite force.
Legendary Captain David Stirling, who formed the 'Who Dares Wins' regiment, and hand-picked the men under his command, is pictured along with his controversial deputy Paddy Mayne , who took over the top secret regiment after Stirling's capture.
The album sold at Bosley's Auctioneers of Marlow, Bucks, last week for over five times its pre-sale estimate..
