Rare sight...JMWTurners famous Petworth studio opens to the public.
The private library at Petworth House in West Sussex has opened its doors to the public for the first time in a new exhibition of J.M.W.Turner to coincide with the blockbuster movie.
Turner used the library to paint when a guest of Lord Egremont at Petworth, and his studio has been recreated in the private room where many scenes from the movie were filmed.
Actor Timothy Spall's artistic attempts at some of Turner's masterpieces, carried out under the tutorship of London artist Tim Wright, form part of the exhibition.
Although the house is owned by the National Trust the library is in a part normally off-limits to visitors.
Petworth House - till 10th March.
