The toga Captain Kirk wore while locking lips with Lieutenant Uhura in one of the first inter-racial kisses on television 50 years ago has emerged for sale for £46,000 ($60,000)

William Shatner was dressed in the maroon Grecian toga for the tender moment with Nichelle Nichols in the episode 'Plato's Stepchildren' filmed in 1968.

The toga will go under the hammer alongside Mr Spock's green toga worn by Leonard Nimroy in the same episode, which is valued at £23,000.
