Competitors braved the heat as they took part in the North Dorset Cycle Ride. There was a family race, 25 mile race and a 50 mile course. The finishing line was a gruelling steep climb up the iconic Gold Hill in Shaftesbury.
Gold Hill known as 'Hovis Hill' was immortalised in Ridley Scott's 1973 bread advert. The Hovis commercial was voted Britain's all-time favourite TV advert in 2006.
In the advert, a young bakery boy struggles to push his bike with a basket full of bread to the last house on his round.
The advert was meant to depict a northern industrial town but was actually shot in the quaint southern market town.
It is still known to many as 'Hovis Hill' and is a popular spot for tourists to visit.
