A jewellery-obsessed woman's vast collection of 40,000 trinkets have sold for over £47,000.

The late owner spent 70 years amassing countless items of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, bangles, beads, brooches and watches.

She acquired most of it for very little money from jumble sales, charity shops and car boot fairs and never chucked any of it away.
