An iconic outfit worn by screen siren Marilyn Monroe in the film that made her a superstar has emerged for sale for a whopping £330,000.

Monroe donned the grey wool jacket and skirt in one of the most famous scenes of 1953's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the film that launched her to superstardom.

It was sold by production company 20th Century Fox to fellow screen star Debbie Reynolds in 1971 and she in turn sold it to the current owner in 2000.
The costume is set to fetch $500,000 - around £330,000 - at an auction held by Bonhams New York.
