The home before the refurbishment...
A stunning coastal home in a celebrity hotspot has more than doubled in value in just two years - now on the market for £2.695m.
Kai Tak was an unrefurbished dormer bungalow when it was put up for sale in 2016 for £950,000, but crucially it had planning permission in place for a striking contemporary three-storey house to be built.
The prime piece of land is close to the beach in Polzeath, Cornwall, one of the most desirable villages in the county, and estate agents estimated it would cost about £800,000 to build the new home.
But now canny property developer Spencer Tarring looks set to make a tidy profit having built the high spec luxury house.
