A statue of palaeontologist Mary Anning has finally got the go ahead after a schoolgirl's four-year campaign.
Evie Swire and her mum Anya Pearson have been working tirelessly since 2018 for a tribute to the pioneering fossil hunter after Evie, who was ten at the time, asked why there was no statue of her hero.
After setbacks and holds ups, the planning application for the statue has now been approved by the local council.
The lifesize bronze statue will go on a footpath overlooking Black Ven, the cliff where she made many of her discoveries, in Lyme Regis, Dorset.
