Fears for the future...
The family who established the Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park, in Verwood, Dorset, to protect rare breeds and educate the public on the heritage of heavy horses fear they may be forced to close.
The centre, which relies on hands-on interaction with both the steads and historic farm machinery to engage with visitors, will be unable to reopen in July.
Farm manager Taya Street, who grew up on the farm, believes it would cost more in staff wages to open the doors under current restrictions than they would be able to recoup with reduced visitor capacity.
With weekly feed, veterinary and farrier costs mounting the centre has launched an adopt a horse scheme in a bid to survive the coronavirus crisis.
Without support the family believe they may not be able to fund the operation beyond the end of the year.
