A First World War medal awarded to a British Prisoner of War whose evidence helped hang traitor Sir Roger Casement has been unearthed.

Private John Neill witnessed the Foreign Office diplomat-turned-Irish revolutionary try and recruit Irish PoWs to fight for Germany against Britain.

In return Casement sought German help and weapons for the Easter Rising of 1916, the bloody revolt by Irish republicans against British rule in which over 200 men were killed.
