An Olympic gold medal won by a footballer who went on to lead Manchester United through the Munich air disaster of 1958 is tipped to sell for £15,000.
Harold Hardman became a director and then chairman of the famous club after his amateur playing career came to an end in 1913.
He was in charge of the club when 23 people, including eight United players and three staff, were killed in the air crash in Germany in February 1958.
Hardman's poignant message to the fans was published in the programme for United's next game. He wrote: "The road back may be long and hard but with the memory of those who died at Munich...Manchester United will rise again."
