As the 950th anniversary of William the Conqueror’s momentous arrival on British shores, a sinister new shape has been placed on the normally genteel beach at Hastings.
Artist Leigh Dyer has created a galvanised steel prow of a Norman longship beached on the shingle shoreline in a powerful reminder of the last invasion of Britain on the 14th October 1066.
