Smiling for the camera while sat in their holiday hire car, this British family are oblivious to the narrow escape from death they have just enjoyed.

Siblings Stanley and Richard May and Lily Odell along with her son Jack were photographed on April 13, 1912 - two days after they got off the Titanic.

The party had used the doomed liner as a luxury car ferry; getting on at Southampton, Hants, before disembarking at Cobh, Ireland, on April 11.

They went on to enjoy a motoring holiday on the Emerald Isle, but were rocked days later when news broke of the sinking of the Titanic with the loss of 1,522 lives.
Now, 110 years later, a scrapbook Stanley compiled in tribute to the tragedy has emerged for sale.
