Deckchairs are set to return to Britain's premier holiday resort next summer after they were kept off beaches this year over fears they would be used as weapons.

For decades visitors to the beaches in Bournemouth, Dorset, have been able to hire the 3,500 council-owned wooden deckchairs during the summer.

But this year, the yellow and blue canvas chairs were removed because of the anti-social behaviour that hit Bournemouth in summer 2020 at the height of the pandemic.
The local authority missed out on £200,000 income because of the controversial decision.
