Former record-breaking footballer Norman Whiteside is selling his medals and memorabilia for £140,000 to top up his pension.

The ex-Manchester United and Northern Ireland star said his 'small pension' from his footballing career has led him to sell his medals, caps and shirts.

Whiteside made his debut for Man Utd aged just 16 and in 1982 he broke Pele's record of becoming the youngest player to appear in a World Cup aged 17 years and 41 days.

The attacking-midfielder was also United's youngest ever captain, aged 20. But the 55-year-old's career only lasted nine years before he retired through injury.
