The fully restored carriage is now going to be reunited with the locomotive that pulled it to Blenheim.
Historic carriage restored in time for the 50th anniversary of Winston Churchills funeral - carriage has been restored to its 60's glory after being found languishing in a siding in Dorset.
The carriage that famously carried Churchill's coffin on its last journey from Waterloo station to Blenheim Palace on 30th January 1965 has been restored at the National Railway Museum's Shildon works.
The funeral train pulled in to Handborough station near Blenheim before his coffin was taken to the family plot at Bladon chuchyard. The station was closed down shortly afterwards as part of the draconian Beeching plan.
