A rare copy of Henry Beck's map for the London Underground that revealed the iconic design for the first time is being sold.
The draughtsman was commissioned to come up with a passenger-friendly map for the rapidly expanding tube in 1933.
He realised that commuters did not need an accurate map of exactly where the trains went, just the order of the stops.
