Programming the decanter's timer.
This futuristic decanter is sending waves through the wine world - because it promises to transform cheap plonk into a much better and more expensive drink in a matter of minutes.
The Sonic Decanter uses ultrasound to 'age' bargain bottles by altering the compounds in the wine to make it more drinkable.
Its makers say the high frequency sound waves improve flavour by breaking down preservatives, softening tannins and releasing aromas not normally found in young wine.
The launch of the Sonic Decanter is planned for June next year and it will cost buyers $249 - around £150.
