A fascinating collection of never-before-seen photos of the Beatles in their heyday have emerged for sale for £10,000.

The 50 black and white snaps were taken of the Fab Four before and during a show in Dundee on October 20, 1964.

The suited band with their trademark moptop haircuts perform on stage, with John and Paul singing into a shared microphone.

The bandmates appear in high spirits as they switch instruments in pictures taken before the show. Drummer Ringo plays the piano with a cigarette in his mouth and Paul steps in on the drums.

The photos were taken by the late professional photographer John Young who was granted access to the Beatles' changing room. His widow is now selling the images, which come with copyright, at Omega Auctions, of Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside.
