An extremely rare 320-year-old gold medal showing the earliest known portrait of King George II has emerged for sale for £8,000.The medal, dating from 1701, was struck on the 18th birthday of Georg August, Electoral Prince of Brunswick-Calenburg-Hanover.He later became King George II and was the last British monarch to be born outside of England
