Leading aircraftman Don Allen
A British airman's harrowing account of the horrors of a Japanese PoW camp has come to light 75 years later.
Leading aircraftman Don Allen was captured in February 1942 while serving in Malaya in the Far East during the war with Japan.
In his 120 page manuscript, titled 'Delivered from Evil', Allen describes his three and a half years in captivity as 'entering the jaws of hell'.
He recounts regular beatings at the hands of the tyrannical guards, exhausting forced labour and the terrible living conditions.
