Wealthy revellers wanting to spend their Ibiza holiday in the lap of luxury can now rent this entire island half a mile off the coast - but they will have to fork out a staggering £12,000 a night for the privilege.

Deep-pocketed holidaymakers can get a taste of life as a celebrity on 98-acre Tagomago Island, which features its own plush villa for 10 people, a fully-stocked bar and nine staff to wait on them hand and foot.

Nestled in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, the tiny private island has recently played host to footballing star Cristiano Ronaldo and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.

Tagomago can be hired for a whopping £85,000 a week at the height of summer - the equivalent to £500 an hour - but prices drop to an only slightly more affordable £70,000 for the rest of the year.
