Rosettes valued at £40
The 'time capsule' contents of an entire country home are being auctioned for an estimated £150,000 in an everything-must-go sale.
The Prescott family, descendants of the poet Percy Shelley, bought Summerfield House in Exmouth, Devon over 120 years ago.
Over the decades they filled it with antique furniture, paintings, objet d'art and carpets and, seemingly, never had a clear out.
Its last owner died last year and there is nobody to pass the house or the £1.3m house on to.
Auctioneer Richard Bromell was tasked with valuing over 400 items to sell.
