'The Vast, Inventive, Adaptive, and in the End, All-Controlling Power of the Royal Navy'. The picture highlights the sepcilised ships of the Royal Navy During WW2. The images were drawn as a tribute of the Prime Minister's recent broadcast after VE Day in 1945.
Original art work chronicling major historical moments in British history that was for the world's first illustrated magazine is being sold at auction.
The colourful drawings were for the front pages of The Illustrated London News and depict key events in the 20th century including the Royal wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Phillip Mountbatten.
Other moments in history illustrated include the coverage of both world wars and the Festival of Britain.
The work is being sold by auctioneers Christie's in October
