A housewife was left stunned when she peered out her kitchen window to spot an ultra-rare 'white' blackbird.

Hilary Pullen initially thought the bird, whose skin is a mixture of white and black blotches, was a magpie when she saw it in the garden of her home in Rotherwick, Hants.

The partial albinism is believed to have been caused by leucism which stops colouring in the feathers.

This makes these creatures incredibly vulnerable to predators as they stand out from the crowd.
