A huge bronze bust of George Washington that was gifted to a British university is now being sold for £80,000.<br />

The 3ft 8ins tall sculpture of America's first president was one of several made by celebrated artist Avard Fairbanks in 1976.<br />

He was commissioned to produce the 3D portrait of Washington to mark the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.<br />
<br />
The bust, which weighes one tonne, was orginally given to the George Washington University in Washington DC.<br />
<br />
It remained there until 1995 when it was gifted by the institution to the Richmond American University London to mark its 175th anniversary.
