Take me to church...

A seasoned property renovator has spent four years and hundreds of thousands transforming a Methodist chapel into a divine home - now on the market for £1.5million.

Mark Hinchliffe bought the Grade II listed church and the neighbouring Sunday school in Harrogate, Yorks, from the Methodist Council in 2013.

He had to sell his own home and get a loan to buy the building and converted the Sunday school into a four-bedroom home first then sold it to fund work on the chapel, which would be his home.

Mr Hinchliffe saved key features of the historic building in the heavenly conversion and even caught the eye of architect and TV presenter George Clarke, who featured the project on his Channel 4 show Restoration Man.
