A rare wooden headrest that was used by the ancient Egyptians to sleep on has sold for £6,000.
The uncomfortable-looking item dates back to the sixth dynasty of ancient Egypt between 2360-2195BC.
The curved oval-shaped 'pillow' would have supported the head of the user, allowing cooler air to circulate underneath them while they slept in warmer climates.
