Millions of wild garlic flowers have created an idyllic scene in an ancient woodland as springtime takes hold.
Garston Wood is covered in a living carpet of white flowers stretching as far as the eye can see in the Dorset woodland.
Walkers are nearly up to her knees in the bumper crop of pale petals and enveloped in the scent of garlic.
Some say it makes the Dorset RSPB managed woodland, near Sixpenny Handley, look like a snow covered forest.
Wild garlic, Latin name Allium ursinum, loves the damp woodland conditions and grows from winter to late spring, but dies rapidly after flowering.
It was used during World War One as an antiseptic and in dressings to prevent gangrene.
In recent years, celebrity chefs including Jamie Oliver and Tom Kerridge have used it as a cooking ingredient.
Garston, which is also known for its colourful bluebells, is home to roe, fallow deer and the elusive dormouse.
